The Fijian Government's approach to cyberspace lacks organisational structure and sufficient regulation, instead featuring issues in regards to clarity and service delivery. Fiji does possess a dedicated cybercrime unit but offers limited response capacity and fails to engage with regional efforts. Similarly, whilst the government is involved with international cyber forums, Fiji's participation continues to be low level. The government undertook an initial consultation with the private sector on the development of cyber principles. however this process was inconsistent and lacked follow through. There is acknowledgement of the potential business benefits of cyberspace but increased clarity and direction are required to ensure the development of Fiji's digital economy.
